Equality Objectives

Equality Objectives – 2022/2023

To continue to provide a school environment that welcomes, protects and respects diverse people, taking every opportunity to develop shared student/staff leadership opportunities to cultivate, review and improve this in partnership.

To continue to strive to close the gaps in attainment and achievement between key groups of students and all students through the ongoing monitoring of the impact of our curriculum review and through the analysis of data leading to intervention to address gaps between boys and girls, disadvantaged students, students with Special Educational Needs and Disabilities, Looked After Children, and students from different heritage groups and all students.

To develop exciting leadership opportunities for students that allow students and staff to lead together the cultivation of a genuinely inclusive, diverse Noadswood family.

To call out the use of homophobic, sexist, racist and other discriminative language by students in the school, and to support adults in the effective challenging of this and in our own language use for the benefit of all.

To continue to review the accessibility across the school for students, staff and visitors with disabilities and those with other identified needs, including access to specialist teaching areas.

To address proactively and through an open culture and professional development for adults bullying and prejudicial incidents, taking into account the specific guidance around homophobic and transphobic bulling, bullying related to sexual orientation, transgender, gender (sex), disability, race and religion.
