Parent Carer Letter - Focus on Jewellery

Dear Parents and Carers,

During the pandemic, we have been so thankful for the support we have had from all of you and all the students, as we've grappled with the impact on the Noadswood family of the different chapters of events in the last two years. In turn, we have had as our watchwords the need to be supportive of all our families and the challenging circumstances created by COVID-19. People have dealt with a phenomenal amount and continue to do so.

As we move through this period of greater 'normality' we sincerely hope, we have been talking to the students about having the highest of ambitions for them going forwards in terms of their values, their kindness and respect for one another (just as we need to have as adults) and our expectations in terms of pride in uniform. We know where there are high standards here, there are high standards in all things - it just sets the right tone.

Once again, we would like to ask for your support, then, as we drive to return uniform to the highest standards, this time in terms of a 'Focus on Jewellery’ from Monday March 28th.

As per our existing uniform policy, students must not wear jewellery other than a pair of small stud earrings in the lower lobe of the ear. Hoop earrings, ‘drop’ earrings, necklaces and bracelets are not permitted, simply for health and safety reasons.

Where a student has a piercing not in line with this school policy, they will be expected to remove it or wear a small clear plastic retainer.

A watch or medical alert bracelet/other indicator of a medical condition can of course be worn.

I would like to reiterate this is not a change to our school uniform, the details of which can be found on our school website: Uniform and Equipment | Noadswood school

Thank you in advance for your help with this, as always. Any questions or queries, please do not hesitate to drop me a line on ePraise or by email.

Yours sincerely,

Daniel Rowling

Assistant Headteacher
